(Far East) Limited
History
Umedco was formed in 1985
as a subsidiary of United Medical Enterprises Ltd(UME).
UME had been acquired by the
National Enterprise Board(NEB) formed by the British Government
to stimulate British exports from its original founders Michael
Rosenberg,O.B.E. and Dr Michael Sinclair in 1979 and was at
that time a public listed company on the London Stock Exchange
under the name of Allied Investments Ltd.
UME was a global healthcare
business providing turnkey management hospital services and
equipment supply . Umedco focussed on acquiring agencies to
supply healthcare equipment supplies to the Hong Kong market.
In 1986 UME was sold by the
NEB and Michael Rosenberg and Michael Sinclair acquired Umedco
through their private company Eastkings Ltd in the UK.
Present Operations
Since then Umedco has established
itself as a soundly based and well regarded local Hong Kong
company with a range of agencies for the supply of medical
products both into the HK market and into the region. It also
acts as a source for procuring products from Asia for sale
outside the region.
It operates from headquarters
in Hunghom, Kowloon where it occupies approximately 3000 sq
ft . Today it specialises mainly in dental and medical products
and represents over 24 international companies from around
the world.. The management have been with the company since
its inception thus providing long term continuity and stability
as well as deep knowledge of the market and are supported
by an excellent administration team with skills in shipping
and logistics. Products are all of the highest quality serving
the hospitals both public and private in HK as well as private
sector doctors and dentists.

ready to help and assist new entrants to the HK market within
the medical and dental sector.
