Introduction of Mr. Michael Rosenberg OBE

Mr. Rosenberg is the Chairman of Umedco (Far East) Limited, which he co-found with Dr Michael Sinclair in 1985.  Mr. Rosenberg and his dedicated teams at Umedco are committed in supplying quality and reliable medical and dental products to the Hong Kong market and to markets of the surrounding areas.   

Besides committing himself in the medical and dental sectors, Mr. Rosenberg is also committed in other sectors. Mr. Michael Rosenberg OBE started his career at Samuel Montagu & Co. Limited, a London merchant bank, in 1957. He then spent 17 years of his career in the company. From 1972 to 1974 Mr. Rosenberg served as the Director of Corporate Finance at Samuel Montagu & Co. Limited.

In 1974, he co-founded Allied Investments Limited, an international healthcare group and served as its Director. When Allied was purchased in 1978 by the National Enterprise Board, he continued on the main board of Allied's parent company United Medical Enterprises Limited to concentrate on overseas opportunities. Since 1974, Mr. Rosenberg has been the Deputy Chairman of David Paradine Limited, the holding company for Sir David Frost's business interests.

From 1989 to 1999, Mr. Rosenberg served as the Chairman of Numis Corporation PLC (formerly, Raphael Zorn Hemsley Holdings PLC) and its Director since 1988. Mr. Rosenberg served as Non-executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Catalyst Media Group PLC from May 2004 to December 2006 and September 2005 to December 2006 respectively.

Mr. Rosenberg was also a Founding Director of TVAM, the first commercial breakfast TV station in the UK. Mr. Rosenberg has over 30 years of experience in the broadcast industry.

Mr. Rosenberg also served as the Chairman of the UK Trade and Investment's Committee on Trade with Hong Kong and was a Member of the China Britain Business Council. He was the Chairman of the DTI's Hong Kong Advisory Committee. During the 1980s, Mr. Rosenberg was Chairman of the British Health-Care Export Council and was responsible for the creation of its successor, Association of British Healthcare Industries. Mr. Rosenberg was awarded the OBE for services to exports in 1996. He is also a published author of children's books and mentor to the Prince's Trust.

Currently, Mr. Rosenberg serves as Non-executive Chairman of Photon Kathaas Productions Limited, Pilat Media Global PLC and Pilat Global Media PLC. He also serves as an External Independent Director of Dori Media Group Ltd. He has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Amiad Filtration Systems Ltd. since November 2005.
